(more)Cartoonists Across America offers multi-cultural books & comics for all ages, as well as t-shirts. Our characters include the Winged Tiger, Frank the Unicorn, Patrick Rabbit, and many more. Founder Phil Yeh also has a series of watercolors that feature places in the world that meant something to him during the last 36 years of his tour.
Phil was the recipient of the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award and the Inkpot award at San Diego Comic Con.
Cartoonists Across America was founded in 1985 after Phil's friend Wally “Famous” Amos explained the problem of illiteracy in America to him. Phil and his group have traveled throughout the world these last 36 years promoting reading, creativity and the arts, with our books, speaking engagements, mural events, and art workshops for people of all ages. They have done over 2000 murals around the world.
Our publishing company, Eastwind Studios, is celebrating it's 51st anniversary and we will be publishing 3 new books later this year. We are also the publisher of
Uncle Jam Magazine, covering Health, Books, Travel, and the Arts.
“I am pleased that the Cartoonists Across America tour has been formed, because I agree that literacy has become a problem in our country. Humor itself is always a valuable tool in providing incentive for reading.” Charles Schulz, creator of Peanuts (less)
