(more)The Kevin Workman Foundation (KWF) uplifts and inspires communities and individuals by cultivating appreciation for and talent in the fields of popular arts, videography, photography, game design, writing, and social media. We seek to discover, develop, share, and educate with Kevin Workman's enthusiastic words of discovery: "You’ve got to check this out!" The Foundation engages current and future generations of creative communities through its Educational and Sponsorship programs. The Educational Program inspires and informs future generations of artists and creative professionals through presentations and skills development seminars given at schools, vocational programs, and community centers. The Foundation focuses on bringing mentors in contact with at-risk and disadvantaged children. Our aim is to maximize each child's opportunity to pursue work in or be inspired by the fields of popular arts, videography, photography, game design, writing, and social media. Mentors are selected for their demonstrated capability to inspire, innovate, and create important works in the fields of interest to the Foundation. All events sponsored by the Educational Program provide instructional services and materials at no cost to the participating children, school, vocational program, or community center. The Sponsorship Program identifies one or more promising artists or creative professionals who use technology in novel ways to inspire or advance the fields of popular arts, videography, photography, game design, writing, and social media. Selected individuals are sponsored for attendance at a major industry convention and networking event. The sponsored individual is provided with an opportunity to display, sell, or promote their work at a booth on the convention floor, along with opportunities for meetings with other creators, artists, publishers, and notable professionals in their creative field.
