Firearm owners may consider temporarily storing firearms outside the home when they are traveling for an extended period or are away on a military deployment, when someone in the home is dealing with a mental health or substance abuse crisis, or when children are visiting. The Armory Project (TAP) helps prevent firearm suicides and accidental injury by facilitating safe, out-of-home firearm storage with trusted firearm dealers in local communities. TAP partners save lives by raising awareness, decreasing stigma, and providing out-of-home firearm storage for firearm owners when needed. (less)
