(more)While playing football for the Calgary Stampeders on the brink of a chilly Canadian winter, Johnny Forzani noticed his teammates on the sideline were trying to keep their hands warm through the use of two small propane heat tanks. With the vision of creating high-quality apparel that athletes could rely on to help them perform in any conditions, he went overseas and developed heated glove and hand warmer prototypes eventually worn (and loved) by his teammates.
Knowing he was onto something great, John partnered with University of San Francisco alumnus, NCAA Division I golfer, former tech senior executive and childhood best friend Jesse Galvon to create Galvani Tech Apparel. The name is both a combination of Forzani and Galvon, as well as homage to Luigi Galvani, the 18th century Italian scientist whose research led to the invention of the battery.
